Deputies respond to tractor trailer on fire, resulting in one arrest

On Sept. 21 Deputies responded to the report of a tractor trailer being on fire at the Petro Gas Station in Tyre.

Upon arrival law enforcement found a fully engulfed truck with no occupants.

Further investigation showed the fire was caused by a Regeneration system failure after the truck was started.

Clyde Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.

It was later determined that the owner, John Chaname, 40, of Elmhurst, had a warrant for his arrest out of the NYSP Thruway division.

State Police took Chaname into custody and transported him to the Cayuga County jail where he waited for CAP court the following morning.
