An $18,000 donation was given by the KeyBank Foundation to help support the Finger Lakes Health Tuition Buy Back program.
The program began in Nov. 2020 and works to help pay student loans off for Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Medical Technologists that work at Finger Lakes Health.
The program works to help financially assist those who need it as well as give them a clear career path.
22 Finger Lakes Health employees have enrolled in the program since its creation and its led by Chad Hoffman-Fragale, VP of Human Resources at Finger Lakes Health.
Hoffman-Fragale explained that the first five years of paying off student debt for healthcare workers can be incredibly stressful, and that by offering this program it also cuts back on needing traveling nurses. By offering tuition assistance, they can keep the staff local and part of the community.
