The WHO creates new advisory board as people push for further investigation into the lab leak theory in Wuhan, China

The World Health Organization is creating a new advisory group to try to address issues surrounding their attempts at investigating what started the pandemic.

The group will provide independent analysis to try to come up with a date that the virus began and guidance on other potential outbreaks besides the Coronavirus.

The advisory board has not yet been formed, and the WHO is seeking out 25 officials with experience and knowledge to apply by Sept. 10.

In March a team led by WHO determined the lab theory to be extremely unlikely, and believed the virus came from animals to humans.

President Biden has asked that the theory be examined again.

People have been critical of the investigation following WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus’s acknowledgement that ruling out the lab leak theory was premature, as well as a documentary that investigated safety standards in the lab where people first became sick in Wuhan.
