The Rochester Red Wings hosted a guest of honor and had a “grim and depressing” theme on Saturday.
The guest, Maureen Callahan, is a columnist for the New York Post, and when she covered the grand opening of a downstate Wegmans, she described the area it came from as “grim and depressing Rochester.”
Callahan said when she wrote the column and stated that Wegmans didn’t come from “hipster upstate” but grim and depressing Rochester, she was really making fun of her neighbors in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Callahan threw the first pitch for the game.
