Penn Yan School District has joined the list in filing a lawsuit against Juul Labs, one of the largest maker, marketer, and sellers of vaping products, based out of San Francisco, Calif.
The Waterloo School District is on the list as well.
School officials are saying that the use of vapes has increased significantly among middle and high school students all over the country, resulting in a higher risk of addiction.
Superintendent of Penn Yan, Howard Dennis, says that costs have increased for the district due to more necessary staff time for the discipline of students who are caught vaping.
A law firm in San Diego, Frantz Law Group, is filing the law suit with the help of Ferrara Fiorenza law firm based out of East Syracuse.
