Cayuga County continues to report spikes in positive cases and isolations with contact tracing

As Cayuga County conducts their contact tracing with cases on the rise, it’s becoming clear the spread is due to social gatherings.

There has been a party with 12 cases linked, and a funeral with 5 cases. The funeral had to attendees from different counties.

Cases have spiked in August, making them the highest in three months.

Currently 107 people are in isolation, 109 cases have been reported this month, and 43 in just two days.

75 of 109 cases are unvaccinated individuals and 70 cases are under the age of 65. 26 cases are in children under 18, most of which are ineligible for vaccinations.
