Studies show that vaccines boost Covid-19 survivors immunity even by one shot

Early on when much was unknown about the Coronavirus, people who had contracted it were unsure of whether they needed the vaccine.

A new study shows that Covid-19 survivors who ignored the advice of getting the vaccine were twice as likely to become re-infected as the Delta variant makes its way through communities.

The study also showed that those who were infected with the virus that get a vaccine have a dramatic boost in immunity.

According to a Gallup survey, one of the biggest reasons Americans aren’t getting vaccinated is because they believe that they’re immune after already having the virus.

Scientists say that there is some level of protection with natural immunity from having the virus, but that immunity drops when facing the mutated variants, specifically the Delta variant.

One study reported that even one dose for individuals that already had the infection is enough to dramatically boost immunity.

Natural immunity varies from person to person in how many antibodies they have to how long they last, making vaccinations important because it is unknown how long someone is immune after recovering.
