Congressman Tom Reed spoke during an appearance in Chautauqua County Thursday about the allegations of sexual harassment made against him in 2017.
Reed said that three and a half years ago he became intoxicated which led to the incident, and has since been sober.
He thanked his supporters for reaching out to him after the allegations came out to the public.
The accusations were made by a junior lobbyist who claims Reed rubbed her back as well as unhooked her bra without her consent.
Reed apologized to the lobbyist and announced he had decided even before the accusations came to light that he would not be running for re-election or Governor.
