The next deadline for the Canadian and U.S. border to possibly open is next week, but it appears there have been no major changes.
Rep. Brian Higgins, has been vocal in his advocacy for the border to reopen with the wide access populations have to vaccines.
In the last month Canada’s vaccination rate has seen an increase, catching up the the U.S.
Higgins criticized the Canadian government for allowing hockey players to cross the border for the Stanley Cup Finals as well as considering letting the Blue Jays return home to Toronto after playing in Buffalo.
Higgins also said the president has not provided a plan that Americans deserve.
He reached out to the administration but has not heard back yet, and referenced a poll that showed Canadians believe the border should be opened this summer or by the fall at the latest.
