Gas prices are hitting new highs and have reached the level they were in 1991

As the price of gas continues to rise, some places are seeing prices as high as they were in 1991.

Currently, the national average for a gallon of has is $3.15, two cents higher than it was last week. A year ago the average was just $2.20 a gallon.

The average for New York State is currently $3.19 per gallon, compared to last year’s average of $2.26 per gallon.

Syracuse has seen no price change at their average $3.16 per gallon currently.

AAA explained that the rising in gas prices was due to high demand.
