A pair of Dryden residents were taken into custody after a weeks-long investigation.
State police were called to a report of a person target shooting near Signal Tower Road in Dryden on June 4, which prompted an investigation after the suspect left the scene.
It was discovered that the suspect was Karel Westerling, who is a convicted felon. Westerling isn’t eligible to legally own firearms due to status as a convicted felon, which prompted a search warrant to be sought by authorities.
When the search was performed- Westerling was found to be in possession of meth, stolen guns, and a stolen trailer.
Maria Little was taken into custody with Westerling on similar charges. Both were brought to the Tompkins County Jail- where Westerling was held on no bail.
