Penn Yan Pre-k class has artwork displayed for month of June depicting their meaning of home

Penn Yan Action Coalition’s 2021 Community Read has put artwork from Pam Grabosky Smith’s pre-kindergarten art class in Penn Yan on display for the month of June.

They created their ideas of what home means to them as well as discussing the concept of home while reading books on the topic.

The focus was based around the book “Home Now” which tells the true story of thousands of of Somali immigrants who settled in Lewiston, Maine.

The Zoom book discussion began June 1 and followed up with the author of “Home Now,” Cynthia Anderson. The final session took place June 15 and focused on local connections.
