Man facing attempted murder charge in Seneca Falls for 2019 attack failed to appear for court

The Seneca Falls Police Department reports the arrest of a man who was slated to go on trial for an attempted murder charge this month.

The trial of Christopher Freeman, 34, now of Lyons, who violently attacked a woman two years ago in Seneca Falls was set to begin this month.

However, he was taken into custody on Monday around 9:22 p.m. for failing to appear. A bench warrant from Seneca County Court had been issued.

He faces a second-degree murder charge, as well as a first-degree assault charge. He was taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility where he will be held until his next court appearance.

New York State Police and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest.
