New Yorkers enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will be able to receive the maximum allowable amount of food benefits for the month of June due to $200 million in additional food aid this month.
Benefits began being distributed on June 8th and will continue to be distributed through the end of the month. Allowable benefits vary by household size and range from $234 for an individual to $782 for a family of four. Households already receiving the maximum will receive the emergency allotment of $95.
Nearly 1.6 million households will receive the supplemental benefits for the month of June in New York State.
