The Buffalo Sabres battled back to earn a point Tuesday night, but fell to the Boston Bruins 3-2 in the shootout.

Rasmus Dahlin tied the game at TD Garden midway through the third period on his 21st birthday. Colin Miller also scored for Buffalo.
Linus Ullmark started in net for Buffalo but left due to injury 4:54 into the game. Dustin Tokarski made 29 saves in relief.
David Krejci and Craig Smith were Boston’s goal scorers in regulation. Jeremy Swayman made 21 saves plus two more in the shootout.
Charlie Coyle and Jake DeBrusk both scored in the shootout while Victor Olofsson and Tage Thompson were stopped.
The game had an edge throughout with the Bruins doling out multiple hard hits at Buffalo’s expense. The two teams combined for two fights and 48 penalty minutes.
