The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 22-year-old Geneva resident following a welfare fraud investigation.
Damon Steele, 22, of Geneva was charged with offering a false instrument for filing and welfare fraud.
It is alleged that on March 1st 2021 Steele filed an application containing false information with the Seneca County Division of Human Services. By filing it he then received a benefit that he would not have been entitled to without the false information.
Steele was arraigned and will answer the charges at a later date in local court.
