Mets place third baseman J.D. Davis on 10-day injured list with left hand contusion

The Mets placed J.D. Davis (left hand contusion) on the 10-day injured list retroactive to April 7, the team announced on Saturday.

Jose Peraza has been added to the active roster to replace Davis, while Franklyn Kilome was designated for assignment to make room for Peraza on the 40-man roster.

Davis was hit by a pitch against the Phillies on Tuesday and has not played since.

Peraza slashed .225/.275/.342 with the Red Sox last season after debuting with the Reds in 2015. After signing with the Mets in the offseason, had just three hits in 25 spring training at bats. He’ll be on the bench Saturday with Jonathan Villar taking Davis’s spot at third base.
