Dale Currier, who previously served as the interim emergency management director in Cayuga County- has been given the permanent, full-time position.
The Cayuga County Legislature gave the green light to the hire with a salary of $72,000 annually.
Legislature Chair Aileen McNabb-Coleman told The Citizen that he expressed interest in the position a few months ago. “We put him through the paces (of the application process), and it came down to he was the most qualified candidate,” she added.
He brings more than 40 years of emergency and organizational management services to the role. Currier has also served in an interim role in Oswego County.
