Sabres’ Kyle Okposo to miss game vs. Rangers due to injury

Kyle Okposo did not join the Buffalo Sabres for their four-game road trip and will miss the team’s game against the New York Rangers on Monday, interim head coach Don Granato announced.

Granato said Okposo sustained an injury during practice on Sunday. Okposo scored his first goal of the season against Boston last Thursday.

“We hope it’s short term,” Granato said. “We think it will be, but still pending some information on that.”

Rasmus Asplund will join the lineup at forward after being recalled from the taxi squad prior to the game.
