The Village of Victor could see record turnout this month with six candidates vying for three open seats.
The contest pits three incumbents- including Mayor Gary Hadden, as well as Trustees Michelle Chalupa and Michael Crowley- against challengers Jen Arena for mayor, and Corey Kelley and Jen Tipton for the trustee seats.
The election will take place March 16.
Arena spoke to the Daily Messenger on behalf of the trio of challengers- noting that they simply want to bring government to the people.
“We want to bring the village government to the people,” Arena said. “We want to open the village government so that every resident feels they have a voice in today’s plans, and a say in the future vision for the village of Victor and its people.”
Much of Arena’s plan includes maintaining what the Village has done to date, with modifications to improve engagement with the community-at-large.
