Geneva town board joins in opposition to Seneca Meadows expansion

The Geneva Town Board has joined other local boards in the City of Geneva and Town of Seneca Falls opposing expansions at Seneca Meadows Landfill.

Supervisor Mark Venuti said the Town Board unanimously passed a resolution at its meeting last week.

Seneca Meadows Landfill applied to expand its landfill over the summer. That application was not publicly known until December.

The DEC has issued questions for Seneca Meadows to address before they will consider or process the application further. To date, the answers have not been provided.

The landfill in Ontario County is slated to close in 2028.
