The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Wayne County through the morning hours on Monday. A Lake Effect Snow Warning has been issued for Northern Cayuga and Oswego counties.
Lake effect snow will develop behind a cold front, which is exiting the area during the daytime hours. At that point, some locations south of Lake Ontario will see snow develop.
Travel conditions could be challenging at times during the overnight and early-morning hours. The Monday morning commute could be particularly challenging.
The National Weather Service says 3-6 inches of new accumulation is likely in effected parts of Wayne County. In Northern Cayuga County there’s the potential for 7-10 inches of snow.
Areas outside the advised or warned areas will see little or no accumulation.
