The City of Canandaigua could play a role in helping the Town of Canandaigua purchase a piece of lakeshore land.
There are two pieces of lakefront property that the town of Canandaigua is considering.
One of the properties, at 3950 County Road 16, is about a mile south of the city’s water intake pipe. According to the Canandaigua Messenger, should the purchase idea move forward, the town is looking to leave a steep-slope portion of the property in its wooded state, while the remainder could be used for passive recreation and non-motorized craft use and fishing.
