On Tuesday around 10 a.m. deputies along with New York State Police responded to I-490 east, just west of State Route 96 in the town of Victor for a jack-knifed truck.
Joseph Lalonde, 22, of Massachusetts lost control on the slippery road, causing the truck to jack-knife into the center grassy median of the highway.
The truck struck a large tree between the east- and westbound lanes. Significant damage occurred to both the tractor, and trailer, which had to be towed from the scene.
Farmington Service responded along with Fishers and Bushnell’s Basin fire departments. The eastbound lanes were closed for several hours while crews worked the scene.
No serious injuries were reported. Lalonde suffered minor injuries and signed-off.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
