Deputies: Three hospitalized after two-car crash in Canandaigua

On Thursday at approximately 11:30 a.m. deputies responded with the Canandaigua Fire Department and Canandaigua Emergency Squad to the intersection of State Routes 5&20 and 364 for a personal injury crash.

Upon investigation it was determined that David Smith, 52, of Phelps was traveling east on 5&20 when Collene Debalso, 55, of Canandaigua failed to yield the right of way – making a left turn onto Route 364 from 5&20.

The turn caused the two vehicles to collide. While Smith was transported to Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua for minor wrist and ankle injuries – a 16-year-old passenger in Debalso’s vehicle was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. Debalso was also transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Deputies say tickets were issued and will be answered at a later date in Canandaigua Town Court.
