Detour days are finally over in Victor.
The busy stretch of State Route 96, which had been closed since mid-July reopened to traffic, as a roundabout was completed at the Lynaugh Road intersection.
It was a $2.8 million project, and was supposed to be completed before Labor Day. However, it fell behind schedule due to engineering issues.
A second deadline of September 14th was set, but that wasn’t reached either.
The state DOT says that construction crews remains on-scene, so motorists should use caution. It’s unclear at this time how much more money the overrun cost taxpayers.
