Rep. Katko frustrated and ‘done speculating’ about whether a relief bill will be passed through Congress

Congressman John Katko, who represents the 24th District says he’s done speculating about whether Congress can get a new Coronavirus relief bill passed.

“It’s remarkable to me that Republicans and Democrats in the House can’t get a deal done,” Rep. Katko said in an interview with Finger Lakes News Radio.

He says that the time for speculation about whether a relief bill can be pushed through is over.

Katko defended Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Donald Trump for attempting to get something done, laying most of the blame with Democrats.

He says Senate Republicans will push forward a package, but that it’s likely Democrats block it.

Meanwhile, Rep. Katko said in his conversation with FLNR that legislating from the executive branch remains a big concern. Whether it was the Obama Administration in past years – or the Trump Administration now – legislation should happen in the House and Senate.
