Palmyra man charged with assault, trespass after violent incident in Newark

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Palmyra man following an investigation into a domestic incident that occurred on Blue Cut Road in the village of Newark.

Deputies arrested Daniel Croll, of Palmyra for assault, criminal trespass, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He’s accused of assaulting a female in her residence after being asked to leave during a dispute. The entire incident unfolded in front of a child.

The victim had to be treated at Newark Wayne Hospital for injuries sustained in the assault. An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim, according to deputies, who say that Croll fled the scene before they arrived.

He was eventually taken into custody and arraigned. The charges will be answered at a later date in Newark Village Court.
