U.S. Coast Guard rescues stranded boater on Lake Ontario; deputies charge him with BWI

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of an Ontario man following an investigation into a boat complaint on Lake Ontario.

The complaint was registered in the town of Sodus, according to deputies, who say that 24-year-old Justin Trevett ran out of fuel while on Lake Ontario.

His boat began taking on water, deputies said in a press release, at which point the U.S. Coast Guard located it and brought both the boat – and operator – to shore.

He was turned over to deputies of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office where his blood alcohol content was found to be .20%.

Trevett was charged with boating while impaired and having a BAC over .10%. He was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing and released on tickets.
