Several felony arrests made after string of welfare fraud investigations in Seneca County

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce says a series of welfare fraud arrests have been made following investigation over the last week.

He said a number of investigations were active over that period, resulting in the following arrests:

– Lynn Caci, 49, of Seneca Falls was charged with one count of offering a false instrument for filing, a felony, and one count of welfare fraud.

– Brandy Elliot, 27, of Seneca Falls was charged with one count of offering a false instrument for filing, a felony, and one count of welfare fraud, as well as a misuse of food stamps charge.

– Paul Elliot, 48, of Waterloo was charged with two counts of offering a false instrument for filing, a felony, and one count of welfare fraud, as a felony.

– Tania Hoover, 46, of Seneca Falls was charged with one count of welfare fraud, as a felony.

It is alleged that all four subjects received monetary assistance from Seneca County that they were not entitled to as they failed to disclose their true household income, according to Sheriff Luce.

They were released on appearance tickets to appear in the Waterloo Village Court at a later date.
