The Ithaca Police Department reports the arrest of a 35-year-old city resident following a rape investigation.
Police say Demetrius Goree, 35, of Ithaca was charged with first-degree rape, second-degree rape, and first-degree criminal sex act after an incident during the early-morning hours on Thursday.
Police say additional charges are expected at a later date. The victim was under 18.
The arrest was the result of a joint investigation between the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office and Ithaca Police Department.
Goree was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail.
