The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash in the town of Palmyra on Tuesday, with multiple injuries initially reported.
Deputies conducted an on-scene investigation, which showed that a red pickup truck operated by Brandon Klahn, 30, of Palmyra was backing into a driveway and was struck by an SUV operated by 77-year-old Sam Stefanides, of Newark. He was traveling south on Route 31.
Deputies say both vehicles suffered heavy damage. A female passenger in the truck reported stomach pain, and was transported to the hospital along with the driver.
A passenger in the SUV was also transported to the hospital. The Port Byron Fire Department assisted at the scene.
