Seniors who receive social security won’t have to file taxes to get stimulus check

The White House made a major change to the stimulus checks that will be going out in the coming weeks.

Initially, it was said that anyone who didn’t file taxes for 2019 would need to fill out a form on the IRS website.

This was particularly going to impact social security recipients who did not have qualifying income to file taxes.

That has been reversed, according to officials. Now, those who receive social security will not have to file a tax return to get stimulus money.

If you receive social security, the stimulus check will be deposited directly into your bank account.

Individuals who make less than $75,000 will receive $1,200. Couples who file taxes jointly will receive $2,400 if they make less than $150,000. And those with children will receive $500 per minor dependent.
