First responders say that a woman was rescued from Six Mile Creek.
She was later transported to an area hospital after being pulled up the 40 foot embankment, according to CNYCentral.
The area where first responders were called was between Treva Avenue and Giles Street near Six Mile Creek.
Firefighters dropped a rope, and used a rope rescue system to bring her back up.
The Ithaca Fire Department reminded area residents to be careful around gorges in the winter, and to carry a cell phone at all times in case of emergency.
