A trial date has been set in the Phelps homicide case that gripped Ontario County and the surrounding area last summer.
Ontario County Assistant District Attorney Heather Hines said the trial for Omar Antonio Martinez-Salome is scheduled to start May 18th, while the trial for Luis Boffil-Leyro begins June 8th, as reported by the Finger Lakes Times.
Pretrial hearings are set for April 23rd.
Both are accused of second-degree murder, in the death of Jean Carlos Rentas-Figueroa. The 28-year-old was found dead alongside State Route 96 in Phelps last August.
Sheriff Kevin Henderson said at the time that the killing appeared to be drug related, and that all three individuals were living together in the Rochester-area.
