Newark man accused of rape, breaking woman’s ribs during assault

Deputies say a Newark man has been arrested on felony rape charges after an investigation on Mill Street in Sodus.

Dwight Williams, 40, of Newark was arrested at his home after an investigation was conducted following a report to law enforcement about a forcible rape.

Williams is accused of forcibly raping a woman at his home on December 16th. He is further accused of threatening the victim with a knife, as well as punching and kicking her in the ribs.

She suffered broken ribs as result of the incident.

Williams was arrested for first-degree rape and brought to the Wayne County Jail pending arraignment.
