Penn Yan woman airlifted after crash shuts down Rt. 14A

Deputies say a 66-year-old Penn Yan woman was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital after a crash on State Route 14A in Ontario County.

On Thursday around 6:35 p.m. Sandra Weaver, 66, of Penn Yan was traveling west on Route 14A when her vehicle crossed over the double solid yellow line, striking an oncoming vehicle.

Deputies say that while four people were inside the second vehicle, none of them were injured. Two children were among those not hurt.

Weaver sustained a leg injury, which required her to be airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Both vehicle were totaled, according to deputies. Weaver was cited for failing to keep right.

First responders from Gorham, Stanley, and Finger Lakes Ambulance were on-scene.

Deputies say Route 14A was shut down for approximately 90 minutes.
