Geneva man charged with assault after domestic victim sent to hospital

Sheriff Kevin Henderson says a 31-year-old Geneva man was taken into custody in the town fo Seneca after a domestic incident on County Road 4.

Around 3:48 a.m. on Thursday deputies arrested Felix Cruz, 30, of Geneva for third-degree assault. He’s accused of striking his 30-year-old girlfriend in the face with a plastic bottle – causing her to suffer a laceration.

Cruz is currently being held at the Ontario County Jail pending arraignment.

The victim was transported to Geneva General Hospital for treatment.

Deputies say she was later released. An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.

Cruz will answer the charges in Seneca Town Court at a later date.
