The Red Carpet Inn is gone.
The defunct hotel was demolished, which left many wondering if something was happening on the site.
Phelps Code Enforcement and Zoning Officer Andrew Campbell confirmed to the Finger Lakes Times that a limited liability company identified as 760 Brooks Avenue, Inc. demolished it.
760 Brooks is operated under Saunders Management. Campbell told the Times that Phelps hadn’t been made aware of any plans for the property.
It’s unclear what, if anything, will come next.
That said, there’s an interesting opportunity on the site – thanks to the presence of municipal water. That was a joint effort between Phelps, Waterloo, Geneva, and Junius.
At the time of completion, local leaders received recognition for ensuring that municipal services make their way to those crucial locations in Ontario and Seneca along the 318, and 414 corridors.
