he Yankees have sent RHP Chance Adams to the Royals via trade, the team announced. Kansas City is sending INF Cristian Perez in return.
Adams was the roster casualty for Gerrit Cole, being DFA’d on Wednesday after the blockbuster free agent signing became official.
Once the Yankees’ top prospect in the organization, Adams couldn’t make the most of his chances in the big leagues. He pitched in three relief appearances in 2018, where he let up six earned runs on eight hits including three homers for a 7.04 ERA.
Chance Adams has been traded to the Royals, per source. The Yankees DFA’d him Wednesday to make room for Gerrit Cole on the roster.
