One New York state senator wants permanent daylight saving time.
Sen. James Skoufis says he plans to introduce legislation that would end the practice of advancing clocks in the spring and setting back in the fall.
Skoufis says the back-and-fourth is “rooted in World War I history and is nothing short of annoying and stupid.” He claims the measure would lead to a reduction in crime, vehicle and pedestrian fatalities and energy consumption.
