Man rescued from steep embankment near Owasco River in Auburn

The Auburn Fire Department says that it took upwards of one hour to rescue a person who fell down an embankment along the Owasco River in Auburn Monday evening.

First responders were dispatched to the scene on Owasco Street around a Sunoco gas station.

The person who fell down the embankment was reportedly a male, in his 30s.

First responders used a rope system to free the man. He was moved up the steep embankment without issue, according to the Auburn Fire Department.

While the extent of his injuries were not reported, the man was transported by TLC Ambulance to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
