A Bath man has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography after being arrested in January.
WENY News reports 50-year-old Daryl Sumeriski was initially charged with possession of a sexual performance by a child under the age of 16 following a joint investigation involving the New York State Police Jamestown Barracks, the Bath Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the Department of Homeland Security out of Buffalo.
According to the criminal complaint from the Department of Homeland Security, on January 19, the Bath Police Department was contacted by Catholic Charities Weider House regarding Sumeriski, who was a temporary resident.
Residents at the Weider House reportedly heard Sumeriski on the phone discussing sexually abusing a child. Then, two residents reportedly took Sumeriski’s phone and found child pornography saved on it.
