Auburn community remembers 9/11 victims and first responders

The Auburn community lined up with men and women in uniform for their own moment of silence during a wreath laying ceremony outside of City Hall.

Eight years ago, Auburn city leaders established a permanent 9/11 memorial to provide a means to reflect on and aid in healing for all those that visit.

As bagpipes played, an American flag was raised.

Beginning at 8:46 a.m., the first bell rang.

Bells rang for the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center.

The next bell rang at 9:37, for the plane that crashed into the Pentagon.
