First responders from around the Geneva area were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 6 and County Road 4 around 11:42 a.m. on Sunday.
Deputies were called to the scene along with the White Springs Fire Department, Finger Lakes Ambulance, and Phelps Ambulance for a reported four-car crash.
Investigators say Thaddeus Mroz, 63, of Canandaigua was traveling south on County Road 6 when he ran the red light and failed to yield the right of way to 49-year-old Jason Hagerman, a Geneva resident.
Hagerman was traveling east on County Road 4, according to deputies.
Mroz’s vehicle then struck a trailer owned by Darin Rozell, 31, of Geneva, who was northbound on County Road 6. Deputies say that same vehicle then struck a third car in the intersection, operated by Jean Chamis, of Geneva, before finally coming to rest.
Finger Lakes Ambulance transported four passengers in Hagerman’s vehicle who were complaining about back pain to a local hospital.
Mroz was issued a citation for running the red light. The charge will be answered in Geneva Town Court.
