As the State Fair comes to an end, children and teachers across Central New York are gearing up for another school year.
Third grade teacher at LeMoyne Elementary, Alexis Mento, is creating a personalized learning environment in her classroom that caters to each students’ needs and pace.
“A personalized learning classroom is very specific to individual students’ needs and goals, and how to get them to meet those goals throughout the school year,” said Santos.
When Mento first became familiar with the teaching style, she loved it.
“You give these students exactly what they need, and then they are able to be challenged in a way where they can show growth and meet their own goals,” said Santos.
There are four core aspects to the personalized learning classroom. The first being flexible content and tools.
