Seneca Falls man faces felony sex abuse charges after investigation leads to Keuka College

Sheriff Ron Spike reports the arrest of a Seneca Falls man on felony sex abuse charges following an investigation in Yates County.

Stephen Hilyer, 60, of Seneca Falls was charged with first-degree sex abuse, a felony, after allegedly subjecting another person to sexual contact against their will.

Sheriff Spike says the victim was a 25-year-old female.

Hilyer was employed by NMS Security Services, a private security company that operates at Keuka College. Employees of NMS are New York state certified security officers, according to Spike.

The Sheriff says that the victim was not a student at Keuka.

The investigation remains active, and Hilyer was held on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secured bond.
