On August 26th at approximately 11:55 p.m. police were called to ‘The Jungle’ area adjacent to the Fairgrounds Memorial Parkway in Ithaca for a reported armed robbery.
Upon arrival, the victim was located and advised that he had been robbed at knife- and gunpoint. During the investigation, officers were able to identify possible suspects.
A short time later officers located those suspects, who were found to be armed with machetes and BB guns that had the appearance of real handguns.
During the investigation officers also uncovered what appeared to possible be a mobile meth lab.
Due to the extreme potential hazards associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine, IPD was assisted at the scene by New York State Police, Bangs Ambulance, and the Ithaca Fire Department.
Evidence and items are being reviewed at this time and the investigation remains active.
