Officials say water safe after two straight days of clean tests
The Village of Victor and New York State Department of Health say that the boil water order, which had been active over the last several days for some village and town residents has been lifted.
“All samples to detect Total Coliform and E-coli in the water system have returned for two straight days and no Total Coliform or E-coli levels were detected,” officials said in a press release.
No additional information about the contamination was released.
People in Victor may soon be able to use tap water again without boiling it.
E. coli was found in the water supply on Aug. 15. A boil water advisory for the Village of Victor and parts of the Town of Victor was issued five days later.
The first test results of the drinking water came back clean on Tuesday.
Results from the second round of testing are expected to come back Wednesday morning. If it’s clean, the advisory could be lifted by noon Friday.
