Forecasters are looking at Tuesday as a day where ‘soaking rainfall’ is likely. At least for some in the Finger Lakes.
FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil says that showers will increase overnight as an area of low pressure approaches from the southwest.
As it does, widespread showers and rainfall are likely for at least parts of the Finger Lakes on Tuesday.
“There remains some question whether the entire area sees steady rain or just portions. How long the rain lasts is also uncertain. I expect most if not all the region to see several hours of steady rainfall through the morning and into the early afternoon,” Montreuil said in an update on Monday. “The rain should taper off for the second half of the afternoon with a dry evening and overnight. A few more showers will be possible on Wednesday, mostly across the Southern Tier.”
The National Weather Service agrees, noting that even on Tuesday – the heaviest rain will occur in the Southern Tier.
The remainder of the week looks calm, even though there are some rain chances for the end of the week.

I don't believe we are in store for an all day rain in #ROC tomorrow. I do think we'll see some showers and I do think SOME will be soakers. Best chance for seeing substantial rainfall: south of the Thruway. #ROC #FLX #WX pic.twitter.com/YAzNiKy4p1

Nothing more than a rogue shower today. Tomorrow is a different story. Looks like a solid soaking for SOME esp. south of the Thruway. Lighter rain will fall near Lake Ontario. pic.twitter.com/p2cQR3DlzS
